What procedures are available?
Dr. Felix performs many minimally invasive examinations or procedures in our Smyrna, TN. office. There is no need to visit another health care facility to get these done. The most common in-office procedures we perform are:
A hysteroscopy diagnoses or treats certain conditions of the uterus. A small device called a hysteroscope performs this and then transmits an image of your uterus to a nearby screen.
An endometrial ablation can relieve women who bleed in between periods or have bleeding that is unusual in volume or length of time.
Colposcopy examinations help your physician observe the health of your cervix and check for any abnormalities. We use a small magnifying device called a colposcope, which enlarges the standard view of the area.
Endometrial, cervical, and vulvar biopsies
We obtain and test a small piece of tissue from your endometrium if we suspect the problem stems from your uterus. There is no need for invasive surgery. Similar techniques are used to analyze your cervix and vulva for any potential abnormalities.
Do I need a separate appointment for each procedure?
Some in-office procedures may require a second visit depending on the specific procedure, scheduling, and whether all necessary instruments are available. Mention your symptoms during your initial call so the team at Belle Encore can provide you with the most efficient care possible.
How should I prepare for my in-office procedures?
Most in-office procedures require little preparation prior to treatment. In most cases, you’ll want to wear loose and comfortable clothing, as you might need to maintain certain positions for a length of time.
